Tiny Triumphs 56! A little different!

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a cat.
The stockings were hung by the door with care,
In hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there.

Well, it seems the end of the year is on us now. I can not believe how fast it has gone.
Our boys are another year older (and I guess so are Jared and I)
So for this Tiny Triumph I want to write down what I am thankful for.
I know I should have done it around Thanksgiving. But, with the end of the year
I am feeling very thankful. I also want to point out the major
changes that have happened in our lives in the past year. It has been a BIG year for us.
This way when I am older and greyer (ask the boys how old I am) I can look
back and remember 2010 as a good year!

Things I am thankful for:
Jared, Kellen, and Ethan
The rest of our families
A warm house
Food on the table
Time with the boys while they are young
LOVE
And so much more than I can list!

Major Changes:
Jared got a better job!
Moved to Marshfield!
April became a stay at home mom!
Kellen started French Horn!
Ethan is getting help with reading and getting much better at it!
We added K.C. into our family!
AND the litter was taken care of all year! I had to add this in!

Tiny Triumphs 55!

Okay, this week has been like all of the others! Busy! We seem to be gearing up for the holidays here. We are going to have a white Christmas! What more can we ask for this time of year? We also have all the gifts bought and all but one wrapped! So let's hope that we have a stress free couple of weeks.

1. We are all dug out after the nasty weather came through. We had 17 inches of snow come down on us here. So being dug out is big! Thanks Jared for doing all the work!

2. Swimming lessons are over for this session! Ethan has now moved up to the next level! Kellen has a few things to work on before he moves up. I am sure he will get them soon. We signed the boys up for four swimming lessons during winter break.

3. Ethan and Kellen are now getting over their colds that they have had!

4. The litter has been taken care of all week!

Let Winter Begin!

That evil W (winter) word has just begun and I am already sick of it. Over the weekend we had a grand total of 17 inches of the evil S word dump on us. Snow, not the other S word. Now this would not be bad if we had bought the snow blower that we wanted. So poor Jared had to shovel it all. I did help when I could but well to be honest I do not like it. So I stayed warm and wrapped presents. Jared hates that more that shoveling he told me. So we both did what we hated less. The kids loved playing in the snow and have plans for a snow fort. I am left wondering where all the water will go when it melts. Will my driveway be a mud pit? I guess I will ponder those questions as it gets a bit closer to spring.
So on with the pictures.

Now I have to say that at the old place they would have called school if we got this much snow on a weekend. It did not stop snowing until Sunday late morning. There were even wind chill warnings and the schools all the way up North here had school. I was disappointed that I did not get another day with the boys but I was also glad that they were out of the house. Did you ever notice that when the kids are stuck inside for two days any cleaning that is done is instantly reversed?

Well, on the bright side we will have a VERY white Christmas!

Tiny Triumphs 54!

I am right on time this week! Sometimes I even amaze myself! With the Holidays approaching things on the blog might slow down. Jared and I have a few parties that we need to have fun at.


1. Kellen seems to be recovering from the cold that he had earlier in the week. When Kellen gets sick he acts like he is dying. He walks around moaning and groaning. So him getting better is a HUGE thing to me. Plus, I always hate it when my babies are sick and I can't do a lot for them.

2. The boys are excited about the snow. I can't say as I am as excited. They can't wait to find a hill to sled on!

3. Jared and I took an inventory of all the food that we have in the freezer. This was a HUGE job. We have two chest freezers full of food plus the one in the kitchen is full. We also have a third freezer downstairs waiting to be filled up with the half of cow that we bought! So I will only have to go shopping for the small things for the next few week!

4. The litter is still being taken care of. Minus a few issues that we have had.

Tiny Triumphs 53!!!! (REALLY late)

Okay, I am sorry yet again! I am really late on this. I have been getting a lot done around the house. Also, I think I should mention that Facebook takes up some of my time. Hello, my name is April, and I am addicted to Facebook. There that is better! I feel there is a New Year's resolution in my future that has to do with that!

1. The boys put up, put the lights on, and decorated our tree by themselves this year! They say it looks better than ever! I have to agree! Watching them do it all was fun for Jared and I. It made me step back and see that my boys are growing up. I did help a bit with the selection of the ornaments though. We have a kitty that can't leave anything alone so they all had to be unbreakable.

2. I made a turkey dinner last week! Jared and I usually make one ourselves after Thanksgiving so that we can have some awesome left overs. We have had sandwiches that are so good! Also, I made Turkey Ala King. I did this from scratch and the boys loved it! I can see this as a staple in our house!

3. We are almost done with Christmas shopping! I think I have three more people to buy for! And my boys too! I can't wait to do it this year! The boys are at such a fun age, no more baby stuff for us!

4. The litter is still being scooped!

Since I was late I will give you a few extras!

5. Kellen's French Horn practice actually sounds more like music now! I can actually hear a song and sing with it!

6. Ethan and I are reading a lot lately! He seems to be getting better to me.

7. Jared and I went to another M.A.S.H. meeting! I actually let beer connoisseurs taste what we had made. And it seemed that everyone liked what we made!

Today, I made cupcakes for Thanksgiving! I made them to look like Turkeys. I used my cake decorating skills to make them! I think they turned out very well!A close up
