No More Quiet!

Ethan has been saving for awhile for a guitar. He saved all of his allowance and birthday and Christmas money he got. Well, a few weeks ago, with a little help from mom and dad, he got his guitar! He is so proud of it! He chose an electric guitar in red! He looks so cool! He is taking lessons as well. His teacher is in a band and Ethan loves him! I have been told that Ethan is doing an amazing job! He is picking this up like a sponge! I guess it was the right time to do this. He has been practicing every day. He WILL NOT skip a day, he loves it that much!

My baby is growing up so fast! Next thing I know I will have a band in my basement!

Tiny Triumphs 2!

WOW! What a week it has been! I am feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment. All this studying is making me cranky.

1. I have almost finished a week of school. Yikes! This is going to take some getting used to. Two of my classes were canceled due to the professors being sick. I am sure it will be good in the end. I do have to say that Sociology is going to be rough!

2. Ethan is doing well in his guitar lessons! His teacher said that he is like a sponge! He is picking it up very quickly!

3. Kellen is going to be taking the advanced placement tests for math and English. He is hoping to at least get into advanced math next year at the Jr. High.

4. The boys are almost done with their Demonstration Day projects. I will post more after they have given their presentation.

Have a great week!

Fresh Kitchen!

About a year ago Jared and I got a new bed. Well, the bed did not fit up the stairs. So our nice landlord let us extend the doorway! We had said that we would fix the opening and also paint the kitchen. It took us almost a year but it is now done! I think it looks amazing! This is the ugly half up border that was like that when we moved in. So I took it down!
One corner, see how dingy it looks, wait til you see the finished product
The door we needed to make bigger to get the bed upstairs
The kitchen island
The cabinets, make sure you notice the brown brick!
One last picture of the "old" kitchen
A week later and a lot of time and muscle aches, it is done!
No more ugly border!
Check out the wood work that Jared did! I think it looks amazing!
The island with the painted bottom!
The cabinets! I think it looks awesome! What do you think?

Just A Quick Update

I know I skipped the Tiny Triumphs last week and have not been on the blog as much. I have been getting all the little stuff done around the house that might get pushed aside once school starts. I have painted the kitchen (wait till you see the pictures), organized a few things, cleaned a few things, and done a few other things that have been pushed aside for too long. I am starting school next week so things might slow down here while we all get into the swing of things. But, I have to say that I am much less nervous about the math class than I was. I got the math book in the mail and looked at the first few pages and boy are they easy! The hard stuff does not even make an appearance until page 300 or so. The first question was 400+21+95=. I think I can handle that! I have orientation this week and am really excited to start this new chapter in my life.

So I hope to do Tiny Triumphs this week and post a few pictures but I won't make any promises. So I hope you have a good week!

Tiny Triumphs 1!

Well, it is a new year! I am looking forward to all the new fun and exciting things that we will be doing this year! I hope that 2012 is going to be the best yet! There will be so much going on this year! I can't wait! So instead of triumphs I am going to put down some New Year Resolutions. Now these are not about me (those are personal). These are about my family. Things that I hope to accomplish with the boys.

1. Make the boys laugh everyday!!!

2. Take the time to snuggle with the boys when they need it. Try to remember that dishes and cleaning can wait. And who really looks at my floor to see if it is clean?

3. Spend a little time just talking to each boy on his own everyday. Sometimes life gets in the way and I don't get to spend enough time alone with each boy.

I plan to do my best to try to make these happen. I just have to remember to try.

Have a great New Year! I know we will have one!
