Testing.....Testing....1.....2....3...

I got my new camera in the mail today and had to test it out. I actually won it! So free is good. It is a Canon Power Shot. I took the boys out and braved the snow for some cute pictures. Let me know what you think. I kind of like it! It is not as small as I would like but I think I could get used to it.Lily

Kellen jumping off a log
Kellen forgot to tuck his shirt into his snow pants. He remembered this when snow went up his back. So he stood right out there and tucked in his shirt.

Kellen standing on a table. Look at the picnic table behind him. Only about 6 inches of it are showing.

Cute Ethan
This picture is of Ethan at age 4. It is one of my favorites. I made him sit like this today so I could retake the picture.

Kellen died in the snow. He even put the snow on his face to look more convincing. The things he will do for a joke.

Lily Helps With Laundry!

Lily inspecting the clean laundry. She has to make sure that the clothes have the right amount of cat fur right out of the drier. Don't you wish you had one?

Tiny Triumphs 4!

I know, I am late again. I am really trying. But life seems to get in the way of me sitting at the computer. School things have really been taking up time here. There are worse things than school stuff to have to do. I still have an aversion to homework. I have had that aversion all my life. It has not seemed to have gone away. It also does not seem to matter if it is my homework.

1. We are all on the mend. The boys and I have had a cold for most of the week. Jared is the only one who escaped this. The boys missed two days of school so we have had extra work to make up. We are all almost as good as new!

2. Both boys brought home fantastic report cards! I am so proud of both of them.

3. Kellen has been doing laundry all week! By himself!

4. Ethan has been folding towels for us all week!

Have a wonderful week! Stay warm and healthy!

Story Time!

I have been thinking about what I can add to the blog. I wanted to make it a place where the boys when grown up can look back and say "Hey look! I did that!" I also want to let friends and family know what we are up to. So lately I have been brainstorming on what to add to the blog. I thought about adding a post about things that I cook that are good and the family liked. But, since I don't like to cook that idea was out the window. I thought about adding a games we are playing post. But since we play one game until it is boring that idea did not work. How would you like to post about playing Life every week for a month? So I was reading a book on my Nook and came up with the idea of Story Time! A way for us to share what we are reading. We may even tell you if we like to book or not. Maybe even a short review here and there. So here we go!Kellen just finished Beowulf as retold by Penelope Hicks. He said that he really loved this book.
Ethan just read Dinosaurs Love Underpants by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort. He seemed to like this book. It gives us another theory about why dinosaurs died out. And let me warn you it involves underpants. I think Ethan would read anything if it had underpants in it. But then again what boy wouldn't?
I am going to start The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. I have heard good things about this book. I can't wait to start it today!
Jared is reading Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. He has not been able to put this book down for long. So that must mean it is a good one!

This Little Piggy.....

What do you do on a day both boys are home sick? You are also sick yourself? And you pulled a muscle and can't move? Well, that is exactly what the Teche Family faced today! The boys were very helpful but T.V. only held their interest for so long. So after reading and doing some other things Ethan and I found ourselves at loose ends. I found a Sharpie marker next to me and drew a smile on my toe. Then it had to talk to Ethan. Ethan then drew on his foot and I finished mine. They had a great discussion before we put the socks back on to shut them up!My foot. Look at the pinkie toe...it has a pig nose on it cause it is the little piggy that went wee, wee, wee all the way home.
Ethan's foot! His foot monster tried to eat my foot people. I still have all of my toes so he was not successful. During all of this Kellen is sitting there rolling his eyes at us. He was too cool to play with us.

Now you know what to do if you are ever faced with the issues that we were faced with today. Also, make sure that you have a Sharpie marker with you at all time. I even have several in my purse in case of emergencies.

Winter Band Concert 2011

On Tuesday night we went to Kellen's first band concert. It took about ten minutes to hear all of the songs but to see what he has been working towards amazed me.Kellen is in the third row that you can see with his head turned to the left
Third row the kid with the glowing face is Kellen
Same place
kind of blurry but same place
For some reason my video did not work so you will have to make do with pictures. They played four songs. The one question I have is why did Kellen's face glow and none of the other kids' faces did?

Tiny Triumphs 3!

Oops! Tiny Triumphs being on time lasted a whole two weeks! That must be some kind of record! We have been busy with real life. The bitter cold, cars not starting, swimming lessons, and more! Most of the stuff that has kept us busy has been fun!

1. Rocket is on his way to Florida with Aunt Sherry and Uncle Jerry! Rocket is a bear that Ethan got in class. People who have Rocket send some postcards so Ethan's class can learn some Geography. They also take some pictures of Rocket and the kids get to share those at the end of the year.

2. The boys are loving their Saturday morning class! It is on healthy eating habits and keeping active. The boys have played Dodge Ball and soccer so far.

3. Kellen's band concert went well! We were really impressed at how well all the kids did!

Have a good week and keep warm! That is what we will be doing.
