Another week has gone by. This summer is speeding by. I don't know if that is good or bad. I always remember summer when I was a kid as being long. Now as an adult it seems so short. There is so much left that I want to do. So I hope that I get to it all. Camping would be great! As would swimming in a pool or a lake. I also have many places around here that I would love to check out. I will keep you updated as to what gets done.
On with the triumphs!
1. K.C. is getting used to the house and Lily. Even Lily seems to be making progress on getting used to K.C. I even took K.C. to the vet and got some things taken care of. Since he was a farm kitten there was worms and ear mites. We got those taken care of and have appointments for him to get his shots. Also, in about six weeks he will be getting neutered.
2. We planted some bushes in the front of the house. We had taken out the ugly ones that were here when we moved in. I don't know what they were but I found them ugly.
3. Jared and Mike took out the lilacs that were in the backyard. I love lilacs but the backyard is so shaded that they would not do very well. So on Sunday Jared and Mike cut them down! The place where they used to be looks empty but will soon be filled. We have plans to put in a pond in that corner!
4. The litter is still being scooped!
5. Kate taught Ethan and I how to stick weave. Ethan seems to really enjoy doing it. He will do some weaving every night. It seems to calm him down when I know he needs a minute or two to collect himself.
I hope all have a good week!
We are a busy family of 3. April is a nursing student with 3 semesters remaining before receiving her RN. Kellen will be a junior in high school. He still plays his French Horn and has added a few other instruments. He now also plays the trumpet, trombone, and the mellophone. Ethan will be starting the 8th grade in the fall. Ethan still plays his guitar and is still in lessons.

The Splash Pad and Other Fun!
On Friday, Kate was going into Wausau so Ethan and I hitched a ride. We went to a place called the Splash Pad. It really is a neat place for the kids to play. I like the fact that there is no standing water to drown in! I also like that it is only 50 cents a person to get in for as long as you want to play! Logan had a class at the museum so he did not get to splash with us. Ethan and Becca had a good time together.
Dr. Logan is in!

Kellen's Birthday Party
On Sunday July 4th we celebrated Kellen's 11th birthday! I have a hard time believing that he is that old. As my Dad put it "You really are getting old April." Thanks Dad! Anyways, it rained off and on all day. So we did the outside stuff when we could. We did a pinata and some small fireworks. Later, since it was raining we sat on our front porch and watched the show! I love that I can see them from our house. All we missed was the ground show.
The pinata before the kids broke it. I broke down and bought one instead of making one
Logan spinning on the bat. We just did this to keep the kids busy while Jared got the pinata ready to go
Becca spinning! The bat was almost as tall as she is
Kellen right before he fell over
Ethan spinning
This was the only smart kid. He would not spin said that he did not want to get dizzy. This is D a friend of Jared's son, he is also 11.

This is right after Jared dropped the pinata on D. I love the belly laugh!

It has been kind of a lazy week here! I love having one of those every so often. It seemed to rain most of the days up here so we were stuck inside. I could go with less rain and more sun!
1. Kellen is now 11!
2. We added K.C. to our house!
3. The litter is being scooped!
4. We have been playing a lot of games lately!
Have a Good Week!

Happy July 4th!!!!
Welcome K.C.
Today we went to Mike and Kate's house to help out again! Jared and I had been kicking about the idea of getting another cat for Lily to play with. We were hoping that once they got used to each other someone would be there to play with Lily. Well, today was the day that we got a new kitty! He is so tiny and sweet. Lily is just watching him but she will hiss if he gets too close to her. I am sure that in a bit they will be best friends.
The kitty's name is K.C. which is short for Kitty Cat! Thanks Kate for the cute name. We had thought that we would name him Buddy but there was a problem with that. I seem to call my kids Buddy. So that name would not work!.
So, on with the pictures!
The orange and white cat on the top is Gia, Mike and Kate's cat. He is just watching the box with the kitty sleep.
This is K.C. getting ready to sleep in the box
More K.C.
A close up of K.C. In this one I have to say that his eyes look stupid here. He has kitty eyes. I just hope they get smarter looking.
Well, I am off to play with the new addition!

Another busy week in the Teche house! We have been busy and loving being able to work outside again. I loved planting the garden and the rest isn't as bad as I remember it being. I am sure that the novelty will eventually wear off. But right now I am in heaven!
1. The Landlord is working hard on the upstairs. He is putting in a bathroom, Closet, and another bedroom. He will be here for awhile but I don't seem to mind because things that were supposed to be done before we moved in are finally getting done! Now, while that is not something that we did it will be HUGE when it is done! I do a little dance every time that I go up there. Yes, I am that happy!
2. Jared and I are making progress in the backyard! We are doing it a bit at a time and it seems to be going pretty fast.
3. Ethan and I have been reading a lot during the day. He is trying to get his name on the board at the library (he has to read 10 hours)!
4. Kellen has not asked to come home once since he arrived at Grandma Schumacher's house!
I hope that you all will have a great week! I know we will be busy and happy! Have a great week!
